Power supply

Postby RageRitual on Tue Aug 26, 2008 12:59 am

Looking to get a new power supply my computer is randomly just shutting off on me on a freshly setup system. Power supply is an old 450w might be the problem. Might be getting some good upgrades later on which involve a second video card and such. Which power supply would be reccomended?

A 450w power supply should be enough for the current setup you have. If it is infact an older power supply, that could possibly be the cause to random shut downs. Have you noticed it does it more often when playing a game or watching a video? Or does it happen when ideling at the desktop? I would suggest bringing in your computer, and allow our service department to diagnosis your system.

I'm glad to be of service. I'm also happy to hear you bought a fairly heavy duty power supply, as you won't be cutting your self short with the new system you build, even if you run SLI or Crossfire, you have plenty of watts to expand.
