hi i can anybody tell me what is the best external hard drive for home network. thanks

That's usually subjective. I usually recommend the Linksys NAS200 or the D-Link DNS-323 and then fill them with hard drives, usually Western Digital or Seagate. You can use any hard drives from 160 GB to 1 TB on these NAS units.
